I hope this is the right place to ask this. Anyway, we're coming to DW in July and need to rent a vehicle that would seat 3 adults and 4 kids with car seats, anyone know what size I should rent? I've been to different car rental websites and have talked to representatives at the websites, but nobody has been helpful. Anyone have any ideas for me?

TIA

A couple of question before helping you

Will you be staying on site?

Do you want to rent from the Orlando airport or are you renting from your place to come down to Orlando?

There is also a Thread called Transportation on the Disboard, you should go and browse on it, there is a lot of information there.

We're flying into Orlando and want to rent from the airport. I'll check out that forum that you were talking about. I hadn't seen it before.

Thanks.

We travel as a group of 3 adults (dh and I and my mom) and our 4 kids (though only 2 are still in car seats) all the time (mom lives with us so she is frequently with us in travels even around town)

We own a Ford Windstar (2003) mini van and we could seat 4 car seats in this car, but be aware that the third row bench seat in the Ford vans has only a lap belt for the middle seat. That would mean an adult would have to sit between two car seats...one small adult.

So while technically your group could fit in our van, it could be rather uncomfortable for the adult in the back. Just something you want to be careful about. Good luck figuring out what you need! The really tricky part for us is fitting all of the people and the luggage in the van - now that is a tight fit :rotfl2:

Last December we traveled to Disney with 4 adults and 3 kids. We rented a 12 passenger van from Dollar. It gave us all plenty of room so that we were not crammed together like sardines. We rented at MCO and we had just enough room when we packed all of us and the luggage inside. The down side is that it was very pricey. It would have been just as much to rent two large SUV's for what we paid. Even though we pretty much spent ALL our time together, there were a few times that the older folks in the group didn't want to get such an early start. We'd probably do 2 separate vehicles in the future.

For me, every time I went to Disney I always got the best prices with Alamo, and sometimes I got better prices renting with Alamo directly at the entrance of Magic Kingdom, it's called Car Care Center. But I was staying on site and I took the Magical Express to get to my resort and afterwards the rental company came to get us to bring us to get our car, it was pretty cool. I always called several companies to compare prices.
