Hi everyone! Mom & I are thinking about going to WDW for a 3 day weekend, and are not sure what to do about transportation. We can either take a towncar or rent a car (probably a compact). Not sure where we'd stay (looks like either AKL/BC/PR/WL/YC).

What do you think we should do? We've always rented a car in the past (since there were 4 of us along, and we stayed for about a week).

Thanks!!!

Hi CaliforniaDreaming! Are you going back already? Ok, I am going to sound stupid-do you mean should you rent a car or hire a townecar/limo service to pick you up or did you mean whether should drive down...? If you mean once you are there-I would definitely just have a service pick you up at the airport and then drop you off. We use Tiffany Towne Car and the driver, Berkely is number one!! You have given me lots of advice, trust me, Tiffany is great. Call Deb who runs it and tell her Carolyn from the Dis board saids to use Berkely. If you want, he will also bring you to a food store before you get dropped off at the hotel, but we have never gone to the store. He is always waiting for you right off the ramp at the airport, is on time, friendly, funny, and helpful.

I think Deb still has a coupan at her site too for first time users.

Where did you say you were staying again? I expect to see GF! I just reserved some nights in November for the teacher's convention week in Jersey and if we decide to keep them it will be the Grand Floridian since we miss it.

Hi! Yes, we will be flying down! For three days, it doesn't make sense to drive! LOL, and yes, we got back from WDW a little under a month ago - stayed at the GF. Didn't have a perfect experience (our room wasn't in too great of shape), but did have a great time.

Looks like we'll be staying at the Beach Club, first time at an Epcot resort. Mom, sister, and I, first trip in the fall (OCT). Dad opted to stay at home - he's had enough Disney for the year! LOL, we've only been there for 16 nights within the past year! This might be our last trip for a while, LOL (actually, we said that about our July trip!). Still need to make sure the BC reservation goes thru, then I can get air (looks like we might have to fly out at 8AM to go home!), and book a towncar. I think at the BC we won't need a car (at the MK resorts we always used it to go to the other parks, except when staying at the Poly to go to Epcot).

I was thinking about either Tiffany or yourride, thanks for the good report on Tiffany! I'll check their websites, and give them a call after I book our air. Car Rental looks about $120 with taxes, towncars are $75 or $80?

CaliforniaDreaming, I think we paid $80 with the coupan. I didn't actually have to submit the coupan on arrival, I just told Debbie I know there's an internet coupan and she said that's right and she would immediately deduct that from the total bill.

That's a bummer about leaving at 8am. I always like to leave at night since you pay for the day and you can have access to the parks and hotel that last goodbye day. I know that when I book the airlines, I keep calling and eventually I have received better times.

ps. I private messaged you re GF. Carolyn
