I normally don't bother renting a vehicle when I go to WDW as I quite enjoy the Disney transportation system, but the next time down we want to rent a car for just one day to do some off site shopping and such. I know that National has two rental sites on the Disney property but am unfamiliar with the rental process in Florida, prices, and which site I should rent from. We're staying at the ASMu. I would appreciate any and all info you could share.

Also, can someone tell me where to find the National Car Rental reservations web site.

Thanks,

National has a car rental location at the Car Care Center. It is like a large gas station complex that you pass as you leave the Magic Kingdom area. I also think I have heard that they have a location in the Dolphin, however, I think that is just a rental counter and you still need to go to the Car Care Center to get the car. I dropped off a car and picked up a different size there one time a few years back. It was a very simple procedure. National's web page is www.nationalcar.com

Good luck

National will come to the All Star and pick you up for you to get your car which is probably your best bet. The Dolphin does have cars, but their hours are more limited and you would have to get yourself there. The price will vary dramatically based on what type of car you need. If you need a mini van for one day I would imagine it is going to be expensive.
