Rental car help?

consierding an off-site/on-site split for next year and I have never rented a car before (please bear with a newbie!). I have a few questions:

How do you find the best rates?

What would be the best thing to do as far as returning the car after our off-site stay? I would hate to pay for 10 days of car when I really only need 5. We will use Disney buses once on-site and then DME to return to airport.

All you experts: please help!

I would check out mouseavers.com for codes on rental cars. It also lists all the rental cars that are avaiable at the MCO and the companies that are available at WDW and THe Swan. I found this info to be very helpful for me, since I too made reservations for a rental car for our trip in Sept. Good Luck

Basicly, when doing your rental (which would be considered by the rental companies as a "one way") your best bets would be to rent from Alamo or National. Both are onsite, at the airport's "rental car garage" and are an easy walk from baggage claim. The reason I only suggest Alamo or National, is because they both offer locations at Disney's Dolphin Resort and Disney's Car Care Center. To simplify the process a bit, read the following chart...

1. Walk From The Rental Car Counters at MCO, across the "street" to the parking deck.

2. Get your Car

3. Drive to your hotel and keep the vehicle until the day of your onsite check in

4. Drop the car off at Disney's Car Care Center

5. Take the Free Shuttle from the Center to your hotel

Where is the Car Care Center located? I am not familiar with it. This sounds like a great option. I assumed you'd have to go back to the airport and that would not be worth it!

I beleive that the Car Care Center is at the edge of the Magic Kingdom parking lot (you pass it when exiting the lot - there is also a large gas station there if memory serves)

Yes,

Its a gas station, auto service center and rental car location at the edge of the MK Parking Lot. Just follow the signs to MK, and you will see it before entering the parking lot...
