I'm trying to get a rental car out of the Tampa airport for spring break March 27 - april 3. Weeks ago I saw hotwire for 320+ and I foolishly didn't book it, thinking the rates would dip. Now they are quoting $600 and up! That's for a compact.

Oh what to do, what to do. Will the rates take a dip again as the dates get closer? Is anyone else finding good spring break rental car rates? I'm starting to get nervous. I realize it's spring break and i'm not going to find a super deal, but $600 for a car for a week? Outrageous!

There are several options around $300 including taxes and fess for your dates. Plus you can cancel or change anytime without penalty.

Thanks. I've bookmarked it. Have one reserved now through Enterprise with the Car and Driver code. But am going to keep an eye on things. I've never travelled during spring break and I'm begining to understand just how much more expensive it is.
