Does anyone know where and how to get the best rental car discount?
So far, the best I can find is AARP with Budget. We are looking for a minivan or bigger.

Just booked a minivan with Dollar using the BOD code I saw on mousesavers and it was by far the best deal I've found. 1 week for $227 base.

Try mousesavers.com and rentalcodes.com for coupons and discount rate codes. And keep checking back because as the date nears, the price may come down in order to attract more customers. If you're going during a holiday weekend or week the rates are going to be outrageous. Less than 5 days can be more expensive than renting for a whole week. And renting from a company that has a remote location (cars are at a lot outside of the airport) will be cheaper because of the many fees and taxes associated with an airport location.
