Rental car discounts that don't show up online.

I am trying to compare prices for my trip next week. Avis and Budget say the coupon code was accepted but I can't see how much the actual cost is until I get to the airport to pick up the car. How can I actually know if I am getting a good or better deal than I am finding with Alamo if I can't see the price?

Avis/Budget fixed this a few months ago. Coupons are now applied to the total price.
