How do I go about getting a decent rate for a sat am-tues am rental car out of BWI/ Baltimore airport? It's over Veterans Day weekend. It's been almost ten years since we lasted a car so I'm not sure how to go about it.

What I do is check out the rental codes/discount page on mousesavers.com along with checking rentalcodes.com. Then I basically just plug each one in for each rental company for my specific dates to get the best rate.

I also use Kayak and check Orbitz, Expediaand Travelocity since they sometimes offer good deals.

Good luck!:)

I check everywhere. I am a USAA member and they offer a discount. Last night I just changed a car reservation and went through American Airlines because I am a member. They had the best price I could finds. $13 a day through Budget. It come out to $43 for two days with the taxes plus the bonus miles from American.

I'm seeing $50 to $58 a day with Hertz , Enterprise and Budget. Search the websites, but, be warned, they track quote requests and boost rates if they see a lot of interest on certain dates.
They all seem at the bottom end of the price scale, not sure you're going to do any better.

That is AMAZING. I worked at Budget in 1979 and our lowest rate was $18 a day back then!

Yeah, I checked it over and over to make sure I had my dates right and I didn't only put in one day by accident. I mean, it is an economy car, but still. It is Friday to Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend, too. I always double check reservations that can be changed as I get closer. I stalk my Southwest flights at least once a week.
