Rental Car Cost

Anyone know why rental cars have doubled since November 2019? We have rented cars for many years but no at the current price. I assume it is increase that will stay. We are going in October. Lyft looks good now.

Lots of other threads discussing this topic. Many rental car companies downsized when covid first started when virtually no one was flying. In Orlando, you can lookup the media reports about a large number of rental vehicles put in storage that accidently caught fire and were destroyed. Rental companies will probably continue to have issues matching demand with supply as more people start traveling again. There is also a computer chip shortage that has impacted several industries, including car manufacturers. So in total, several issues have contributed to what you are seeing.

Agree, its going to be a while before we see prices start to drop, unfortunately.
