rental car companies at Port Canaveral????

Just wondering which rental car company is closest to Port Canaveral and has best shuttling to the ship??? We are renting from MCO a few days before and will use whichever company is easiest to deal with once we arrive for our cruise. Any input is appreciated!!

We just changed our plans from using DCl transfers from mco to the port to using a rental car. We decided to fly in earlier than orginally planned which gives us extra time the day before.

After pricing out all kinds of alternates, we decided on Budget which Dave says is one of the best.

We also used Budget. It was cheap, quick and the van we were in was very clean. The driver is very nice too : )

Oh but MAKE SURE YOU CALL SEVREAL TIMES TO GET A CREDIT FROM DCL IF YOU WERE CHARGED FOR THE TRANSFERS OF $98 +
I spoke with someone before we left told them we are using a rental car. She said fine we will be creditted the transfer fees, well low and behold, no credit, waited for creditcard bill, still no credit. Called DCL again and now I have to email or send a latter and explain situation about credit. No response yet from dcl, 3 days now. Oh well just be careful and call alot to ddconfirm credit

We just used Budget for our 2/7 cruise. We picked up a car in Tampa (had gone 2 days early) and dropped it off the morning of the cruise in Port Canaveral.

We were 4 people and my hubby dropped 3 of us and the luggage at the port and then he returned the car to the Budget location (just a block or two past the Radisson). He then took the Budget shuttle back to the terminal. Just make sure that person has their photo id to get back into the terminal.

On the day we got off the ship we took a taxi (was waiting by the shuttle tent) from the port to the Budget location to pick up our one-day rental before our 8:00 pm flight. We checked our luggage right at the Delta terminal at the ship and then all took a taxi to the Budget location (cost $8.00 and it was worth it since the line for the shuttle was very long and we were told very slow). When we got to Budget we were the only ones there (this was at about 9:45 am or so). Spent the day in Downtown Disney and returned the car to MCO that evening. Booked both ressie at the budget site online.

We usually use Happy Limo, but we tried Budget for research purposes on our last cruise (just on the to-the-port part of the trip). Overall it was a very smooth experience. There was a line at the airport, but we got through pretty quickly. I had booked an economy car, but they upgraded us to a Ford Taurus. It had 16,000 and a front-end shimmy, but I liked the massive cargo space and its pickup on the highway. The Budget office was easy to find, and we only had to wait a few minutes for the shuttle (one had just returned, and the drivers were switching). The driver was very pleasant and the drive to the port was short. We had a towncar take us back to the airport, but we saw the Budget shuttle waiting when we left.

We used Avis for both ways on our recent Wonder cruise. Short line at MCO for pick up..got a free upgrade to Van which was nice. No pressure for insurance, we did our own gas fill up. Shuttle was quick and driver friendly. Pick up at port also went smoothly. I would use again. (around $50 each way which for our family of 4 was a savings over the transfers, plus we did a one night pre cruise at Disney World, an afternoon post cruise at Downtown Disney)
