Rent The Runway Questions

Has anyone used Rent The Runway to rent a dress? SO and I are heading to Vegas in a few weeks and I would love to get a dress or two to wear.

I was wondering how much, if any, of a hold they place on your credit card and how many dresses you can rent at once.

I have thought about using them as I can get money back using my amex card. However, I am weary about the whole borrowing a dress thing. And I especially do not like that you can't try it on. It's hard to determine how a dress will fit you. Since you are borrowing it, you can't have it altered. I think it's better to buy clothes the old fashioned way. You go to the store. You try it on. You like it. You buy it. You own it. You dirty it. No problems because you own it. The end.

I think for Rent the Runway when you select a dress to rent, they send you 2 sizes of your choice which helps eliminate sizing issues. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

I don't know about placing a hold on your credit card...and I'm sure you can probably rent more than 1 dress at a time!

Two of my nieces used them last year for a family wedding. Both were happy with the service and dresses.
