Does anyone know if you can rent him ? I see on allearsnet.com that it says it was stopped after Dec 1st 2004, but I was sure I read a recent post about someone having done it last year. I'd like to try him out for a day or two but it seems pretty pricey to buy it and find out you don't want to carry him after the first park. Thanks. Elisa

You can no longer rent Pal Mickey. Check the other threads on this board, there are several on where to buy the older version of Pal Mickey for $13.99 (Character Premiere). I purchased one when it was $27.99. But for $13.99 I would definately get one. Good luck.

Wish I could have gotten one for our trip for $13.99.. I wonder if they will ever clearance the new ones out after the happiest celebration on earth ends? :confused3

The phone number for Character Premier is 954-846-7161. I ordered a Pal Mickey for $13.99 plus $8.95 shipping last week.

That would be for the older version right ($13.99). What's the difference??

I'm not sure what all of the differences are, but one is that you can change his outfit on the new one. I think the voice is a little bit louder too. But thats about all of the different things that I know of, there may be more! :)

I just ordered 3, one for my family , one as a surprise for 2 of my girlfriends that are going with their families. Total with shipping was 52.92. Shipping was 10.95. Anyway I figure it's a nice thoughtful christmas present for 17.64!!!

The older version has different clothes. I asked the lady on the phone when I ordered and she said that the "pixie dust in the air" would update Mickey when you came through the front gates of the Magic Kingdom if you held him out in front of you. Hope she's right.

The new one has more saying and plays a few more games outside of the park from what I understand. I ordered mine (I mean my DS's :teeth: ) this morning.

Pal Mickeys are updated as you walk through the part you just have to have him turned on and facing the gates. If that doesn't work, take him to the nearest location that sells them and they can help you. When we took our Pal Mickey for the second trip he didn't update because his batteries had died.

Pal Mickey is a plush toy Mickey Mouse with a little black box inside his tummy that lets Mickey tell you jokes and give you news about the attractions you are walking by. I bought one for my son during our trip last March and we both really enjoyed him. He is great for telling jokes and distracting you during any waits in lines. You can play a few memory style games on him as well.
We didn't really use him as a source of information, but he's supposed to tell you when parades are starting etc. or where lines and waits might be shorter. We carried him with us everyday using the clip on a pocket or the kid safe breakaway ribbon around your neck system. Another pricey toy but it's one that made the trip more fun! Go Mickey :earsboy:

Just wanted everyone to know that I got my Pal Mickeys today, much earlier than stated they would arrive, and all in perfect condition!!!
