Ive looked at the stroller threads but still have my question. A bit of background so might be long but the info may help you to help me. :)

4th trip with kids upcoming in august but first trip in the summer. Traveling with 4 adults (us parents and a set of grandparents). Kids will be 7,3, 13 months. Flying there, staying offsite, renting a minivan.
Convenience/practicality win over money if its between the two.

Plan was to bring Peg Perego PlikoP3 for youngest (as to only have to deal with 1 stroller in airport/getting into car, etc) and rent a double at Disney for the oldest 2. We need a soft type stroller of course for the youngest as she would not do well in a rented one. Plus we need it for outside of Disney and airport.
3 yo is big for his age and hasnt really fit into any double strollers Ive tried him in the stores so buying a double for the younger 2 and letting the 7 yo walk isnt a real option. Sit and Stand type ones are not ideal for us either.

Heres the real issue. Oldest is SMALL for his age (45inches/42lbs). 7 yo has done Disney before without a stroller of course but weve never gone in the summer heat. Every trip so far hes hopped into the stroller for a bit at some point. PLUS he is ADHD as main diagnosis but has outbursts and other issues. I have considered getting a GAC (guest assistance card) with stroller as wheelchair option for him based on his behavior and issues on previous Disney trips (knowing summer heat and longer waits will put him over the edge at times).
3 yo will need a stroller too for the parks. But knowing my boys, they will fight over the stroller at times. Thus, renting a double at Disney was a way of stopping that.

I know the double strollers at Disney are more $$ to rent now. I could just buy a second stroller and bring it along. 3 yo would use it mostly but would work it out with allowing 7 yo to share when he needs it or for his outbursts.
But then that means taking 2 strollers on the plane and getting 2 strollers in/out of the car probably twice a day.
But not having to rent means not having to stand in that line either.

So am I crazy and just throwing my money away by renting the double and bringing just 1 of our strollers?
WWYD?

I would bring my own and not rent at all if you know you are going to use one no matter what.

I returned today and we had a family on our bus that had 2 double strollers they took on and off the buses. But they had a system of who was responsible for what and it was very smooth.

I know that it is a pain to get the strollers on and off the bus but I would bring my own. We have a sit and stand model for our 7 year old and 4 year old. There is no way that they can walk all over the parks plus walk back to our room every day.

I toyed with the idea of getting a couple of umbrella type strollers and using the clips to hook them together. (I will be at the parks mostly by myself with the kids while my husband is in a conference.) I found a fairly nice one that pushes easily for 19.99. The clips were 9.99. So it would cost me $50 for that option. I decided that would actually be harder to manage for me since I would have to unhook the umbrella strollers every time.

Could you bring your stroller for the baby and get a good size umbrella stroller as well? You can fold it up and stick it under the big stroller if you aren't using it.

I personally do not want to rent one for the reason of getting back to our hotel room but if you are staying offsite, that may not be such a big deal for you.

have you considered renting from www.abbf.com it would be cheaper and they have a double jogger that holds up to 100 pounds. how long will you be staying for it lists the double jogger for 85.00 for 4-7 nights the single jogger is 68.00. They will deliver it to your hotel and pick it up before you leave as well.

Think my DS5 is too big for a stroller?? Or should I just have him hoof it??

I work for Toys R Us and am thinking about getting just a cheap one to take but not sure.....
