Rent car when staying at Caribbean Beach Resort?

Click on mall info, then click on "locate us" in the drop down info. We really enjoy this mall although we haven't been to any of the other malls in Orlando so we have nothing to compare to. It's grown so much since we first started going 4 or 5 years back, they also have a Vans skatepark and there's a Ron Jon Surfpark opening up next year.
Thank you! We've hit the RonJon in Cape Canaveral but didn't know there was one in Orlando. Next time!

You're welcome. ;) The RonJon in Orlando isn't nearly as big as the Cape Canaveral store but it still has plenty of shopping. It's been open for a couple of years now.

We stayed at CBR last May. This was the first trip we rented a car since we planned on going to Sea World one day. The day we went to Sea World was the only day the car was touched until it was time for us to leave. We did not have a problem with transportation at CBR and we stayed in Jamacia #45 so the food court was just a quick walk over the bridge.

Thanks for all of the responses.

I forgot to mention another concern about not having a car.

For those of you without rental cars, do you take resort breaks in the middle of the days you go to the parks? I can see this would be easy if we were staying on the monorail route, but at CBR, we'd be taking the bus 4 times during the day if we took resort breaks in the middle of park days.

Thanks!!!

Joey

Hi again Joey,

We do resort breaks in the warm months... when the parks are open longer. In the winter months we don't, but we usually don't get up as early either. But we don't have a 2 year old... and we've never gone with a child that still needed a nap. If your little one will nap in the stroller -- and you're going when it won't be 1000 degrees in the afternoon -- you could go either way. But a child that age.... if it's hot summer months you'll probably want to get out of the heat for at least part of the day.

Another thing to keep in mind.... using MK as an example. If you ride the bus... you may wait for it going and coming but not for long and the bus drops you right outside the gate, very close to the entrance.

If you drive to MK --
you park at the Transportation and Ticket center... across the lake.
Then you take a tram from that parking lot up to the monorail station or the boat dock.
Then you take either the monorail or the boat (you will be waiting for one or the other) to MK.
Average time from parking your car to MK gate.... at least 20 minutes and that's being optimistic.

Some one mentioned the end of the day... again you may wait for the bus, but if you drive... you will wait for either the boat or monorail to T&T and then wait again for the tram to the parking lot. That's why I say you really aren't saving much in regard to time and convenience.

The other parks aren't quite as dramatic as MK but I still think the time and inconvenience is about equal.

One tip I will give you about the end of the day... either leave early... a good while before closing (and certainly not immediately after fireworks) or hang around in the park and the shops for a while after closing time. If you rush out with the crowd you'll just stand in line longer.

Keep asking questions... you're gonna have a wonderful trip! Rella
