Good morning - we are just about ready to jump in on purchasing DVC. I'm struggling with the decision on resort to choose and hoping your input might help. We are a family of mom/dad/9yo daughter and we are "older" parents in our early 50's. I am the WDW lover in the family and raising my daughter to love it too. Genuinely I love all the resorts and would be happy staying at any of them. I love the quiet and spread out nature of SSR, love the convenience of Poly/GF etc. The only ones off the table are BLT and RIV. If I'm doing my math right, there isn't a ton of difference per point over the life of the contract (for the number of points we need) between SSR, AKL, VGF direct, CCR, all of which we would love for different reasons.

I'm realistic that we may skip some years over the next 10 years or so,.as my daughter gets more involved in sports or wanting to travel other places.

Is there a difference in "rentability" of points at each of the resorts? Should I even consider that as a factor in our decision making?

Thank you!

Near park resorts will always be in higher demand than the others. But, TBH, for the few extra $$ one might get for one vs the other wouldn't be enough for me to decide on home resort choice.

One you hit 7 months out from any trip, all points are equal so getting that difference may not even happen. Right now, I think the deal direct for VGF is an awesome choice (so is RIV, but that is off the table already for you) and if I was buying as a new buyer, I'd do that over resale.

Access to all resorts out there, now and presumably in the future, and if you get at least the 150 points, you are eligible for any and all membership extras that exist...resales points today knock you out of those things.

I think it depends on when you want to rent. If within the 7 month window, the home resort doesn’t really matter. If 7-11 months, Beach Club or a monorail resort are most popular in my opinion :)
