First of heard of it when I read an article in the paper yesterday.

This is the first I've ever heard of it and there are LOTS of people in my neighborhood on it!

I asked my son if he'd ever heard of it and he just said two words.. "how pathetic...."

I would be hesitant to try it but the one line in the article I read that caught my eye was how a lady rented someone to visit her mother in the nursing home 3 times a week. I don't live in the same town as my mother and my fear is she would go in the nursing home and be lonely. She does have a lot of friends but still the days are long. Awhile back she was ill and I was thinking of hiring someone to go grocery shopping for her or even just stuff around the house. She recently bought bags of white pebbles to put around the house and scooped them out of the bag a cup at a time. It must have taken her forever. It is not like many of her friends could have lifted the bag for her.

That's so sad! I bet this sort of service (if you could feel comfortable and safe using it) certainly serves a purpose. I don't think there's anything "funny" or pathetic about people looking for help or companionship.

lol It's not the ADHD that concerns me (my son has ADHD and I'm used to it), but his finger blades. Though I guess I'd rather be friends with someone who had finger blades and didn't have ADHD. That's a kind of scary combo!

If you're talking about me, I wasn't really making fun of him, I just found his choice of photos (especially since it's the only one) odd. I wonder what would make someone choose him. I mean, I guess my youngest son probably would so he could play with his wolverine blades, but I can't imagine many other people would.

I can see the benefits to this site. When you read all the things each "friend" is able or willing to do, it kind of makes sense, at least to me.
