Hi Everyone,
My husband & I are taking our 14 mo. old in 2 wks (Yea!!). We're staying in Port Orleans- French Qtr and I can't decide on renting a car with car seat or taking Disney transportation. It was a pain in the neck to install our car seat in our own car, so I don't want to take it out and bring it with us. Can anyone answer the following:

Do any of the car rental agencies install the car seat for you?
If we didn't rent, how would we get to other hotels - take a bus to a park and then another bus from there?
Is there a fee for parking at other Disney hotels?
Is early Oct. off season so buses come more often and aren't crowded, or do they run less buses and the wait is longer?

We're staying 5 days, but will probably only hit the parks for 3 days at most, so I wanted to explore other hotels. But I'm worried if the baby gets cranky and we have a 45 min. bus transfer/ride to get back to our room.

Thanks!
Linda

There are always people with infants on the busses and they carry on their strollers. However, if you are not planning to do parks every day and want to go to the other resorts, I would recommend renting the car. We resort hopped both ways. You can do it with the busses, but it means a bus to a central spot (ticket & transportation or downtown disney) then a switch to another bus. It can we very time consuming and I don't think you'd want to do this with an infant.

We have never had a problem parking at another resort with a rental car. You just need to show them your parking pass from Port Orleans and you may need to show your ids. The only exception seems to be AKL, where you cannot go in unless you have a priority seating. Boma is a wonderful restaurant there if you want to go this route. I don't believe there are any fees unless you valet park.

Sorry - can't answer about having the car seat installed.
