When you are on vacation in Walt Disney World, does your family normally rent a car, or do you rely on Disney Transportation? :earsboy:

we rent a car...some days we might leave the car at the hotel and take the bus to the parks but i've always thought that was a pain. it takes too long. and then you're limited to the disney stuff...you can't go to sea world/universal/etc.

I'm going next week and renting a car for the first time. It is only costing $40.00 more to rent a car as opposed to taking the shuttle bus. Then we can go to the water parks without waiting for the bus. I won't take the car to the MK. That is too much trouble. We always just used the buses before, but sometimes it was such a long wait.

We rent a car, but only use it to go off-site and sometimes to other resorts. We use Disney transportation for all the parks and Downtown Disney.

We reley on Disney Trasnsport for inter-complex travle. We use Mears for Airport to Disney travel. Its just easer with my father in a wheelchair.

Us too! We always use Disney Transportation! Like when we go in 70 days!!! (yea!) we're taking Mears from the airport to the hotel. Personally I like this better cuz sometimes you get to see other hotels that you're not staying at! It's fun!

:smooth:

We usually rent a car but then park at the Epcot parking lot and ride the monorail to the other connected park. We walk to MGM and drive to AK

Well, since I live in Florida we drive our car to Disney. But once there whatever friend(s) and I take Disney Transportation the whole time while my parents use the car. My mom uses a wheelchair so she feels more comfortable with the car but if she didn't we'd all use Disney transportation.

well we usually rent a car becaues we do other things in the area but once were in WDW, nothing beats the good ol' WDW buses!

Sometimes we rent a car and sometimes we use tiffany towncar to get to the resort and than use disney transportation once we're in the resort.

We get a taxi ride from the airport to our hotel and then if we're just staying in WDW we use their transportation. But if we're going down to the coast first etc. we hire a car.

I keep asking my mum to let us get a limousine from the airport to the hotel but she just won't allow it! lol  :D

actually both!

We take Disney transportation to MK but drive to the rest of the parks. Its quicker and also we go to USF and its easier to drive to there..and also we go to the outlets...I couldnt live without going to the Disney outlets!!! :D

<font color=blueviolet size=4>We rent a car all the time because we like to go off property to USF & IOA, shopping @ the Bellz outlets & sometimes out for dinner. Sometimes the Disney Buses are kinda unreliable & don't getcha there @ the time ya need to be (especially the buses that stop @ other resorts). When we stay @ the BWV we do take the boats to MGM & Epcot, same w/when we stayed @ the WL, we took the boat to MK.

We use a towncar to get from the Airport to our hotel and thereafter use Disney transportation. By the way, I love the new buses that are starting to be incorporated into the system!

Hey guys--

this is my very first post, but I know whats goin on cause my mom is addicted to these boards. lol You definetly don't need a car if you're going to Disney. If you want to go to IOA, then yes, a car would help. My family has used Florida Towncar to get from the airport to our hotel, which worked out great. Actually, I just think its fun riding Disney buses. lol :-)

btw, I just got back from WDW a couple days ago-- miss Old Key West already :-/

We just have a car take us from the airport to WDW and back, but that's the only time we do- and we don't even drive- someone else does! lol- so once we get to WDW we just use the buses to go to MK, AK, BB, and DTD, and walk to MGM and Epcot (we usually stay at the BWI). I've never really encountered any problems with Disney's transportation- I really kinda like it- especially after you've been walking around in a park all day and you get to sit down in a nice airconditioned bus... lol!:D
