I will apologize in advance if this post runs long, but I want to share all that I know.

My family was at FW 5/29-6/6 in 2000 loop right across from the comfort station closest to the bus stop and of course we noticed right away that the comfort stations had not yet been renovated as some others have been in the other loops. Well anyway, on one of my many trips to the showers in the comfort station I noticed that the 1st stall was taken so I proceeded to the 2nd only to discover someone (I hope it had been a small child) had gone #2 in the shower stall :faint: (yet again another reason to always wear shower shoes). So I went ahead to stall #3, checked to make sure there were no gross surprises and locked the door, well, I soon discovered there was no soap dish, it had been broken off. I put my toiletries on the shelf in the dressing area figuring it wouldn't be a big deal to reach out of the shower for the soap, shampoo, razor, etc as I needed them and I would notify someone of the missing soap dish so they can remedy the problem.

Well, we also had noticed the recycling bin which was right in front of our site was overflowing and had not been emptied in days, so when the CM drove by and emptied the trash bin I asked him when the recycle bin would be emptied and he said without a trace of rudeness, just in kind of a matter of fact way " when I get around to it", he did empty it that night.

So the next day I was headed to the comfort station again and I ran into another CM right outside and I decided to ask what was going on with things at FW, I was told that a lot of CM were pulled out of FW to go to work at the "more deluxe resorts" and FW was left with a bare crew and that sometimes things get backed up because they do not have enough CM do handle everything there. I was given an example of after the hurricanes, they had to spend so much time doing nothing but cutting up fallen trees that no maintainance was done in FW for several months. I was advised by this CM to bring the things I had noticed to someone other than CMs at FW and to present them in a non-complaining just giving feedback kind of way.

When we returned home from our trip, I sent an e-mail to guest communications to let them know my observations and to ask when the 2000 loop comfort stations would be renovated and if there were any plans for improving the pool areas or letting FW guests pool hop since the pools are not themed, no sildes, etc. Well, today I received a phone call from executive guest relations stating in a very polite manner that there are no plans at all to renovate the 2000 loop comfort stations and no plans to do anything at all with the pools or pool hopping :worried:. This has certainly convinced me to book preferred or full hook-up from now on, but I just don't understand why all campers can not get the same amenities. :confused3

Once again, sorry this ran long, I wasn't going to bring this up here but my DH was so disappointed he wanted to know what other people think about this. I can only hope that things will change and the powers that be will give FW the attention it so rightly deserves.

Sorry to see that I am not the only one noticing problems at FW. Not all comfort stations have been remodeled yet or at least not to the extent of say the Big Bear Little Bear loop, we stayed in a prefered site last Oct(500 loop I think) and it still had the same corian type bath room I remember from many years ago. Sometimes it feels as if even Disney treats FW as a second class resort and it's guest as less valuable than those at other resorts. It is however Disney and I guess we'll keep going.

I wonder why they have remodeled some comfort stations and not others? We stayed in the 800 loop in 03/2005 and that comfort station was remodeled and DH says the 300 loop comfort station was as well and the one by the campfire was done and the one at the entrance to the 900 loop too. So, I guess I wrongly assumed they all were except for 2000, but I guess it was worth checking into anyway. And yes, we will still keep going too.

Loop 1500 Comfort Station has not been remodelled either. As a matter of fact, as of last year, they still had the old dryers where you could put in a single quarter and get a few minutes of drying time.

I have not really paid much attention to the comfort stations as we take showers in our TT, my DH will use the comfort stations although. I did use the ones in little bear big bear and they were in good shape and very clean, I also took a shower once in cinnamon tree way and that one was also in good, clean shape, but those are the only 2 I have ever used.
I don't understand why people think of campers as 2nd class I mean all it take is a look at some of the rigs to know better.

Well I guess that answers my ?'s about renovating the pool on a previous post. :sad2: Oh well- we still love it for the way it is and we will continue to go there again and again! :drive:

Loops 100,200, and 300 have been renovated.

We stayed on the 2000 loop right before Christmas and it was the worst stay we've ever had at FW. I agree, the bathrooms weren't kept as clean, the campsites seemed to have a lot less shade and we had some crazy, loud campers on the loop. I definitely will not stay in a partial hook-up again.

I think we pay a good price for are wallless room at FW. If we were at a value resort for a few more $$, disney would give us walls, tv, phone, beds, daily maid service, ect, ect, ect.

Two years ago loop 15 was fine. I hope I am not disappointed this year.

As far as the pool, it is much larger than WL pool. If they allowed pool hopping, FW guest might be disappointed to travel to WL and fine the pool is already at max capacity. When I stayed at WL I did not swim at the main pool as it was to crowded.

I would gladly pay a few more $$ per night to have slides and spa at FW.

Thanks,
Tigger
