We got married in a little chapel off Hwy 15 in California with chickens and a donkey in the yard in 1988. I want to renew our vows with everything Disney in Aulani in 2013. I am already a DVC member with Aulani as my home resort so I have that covered. Any advice on setting up the rest to be as magical as I want it to be?

Thanks!

I don't think there are any Hawaii brides on here yet. YOu just might be the first so I think that any advice you could give on it being in the process would be awesome lol

I am actually looking for any advice when it comes to Disney weddings in general and specific to renewing of vows. Oh, and I am the groom :)

You have definitely come to the right place for advice! This website is great!

Congratulations on renewing your vows!!

Perhaps you could start a planning journal on the other board and ask your specific questions and fill everyone else in on your wonderful Hawaii plans?

Congrats on DVC in Hawaii, I would love to have that as my home resort would you mind if I asked how steep it was to buy into there? Are they "giving away" any perks too for it now? We are SO interested! I am also thinking of going there in 2012 to celebrate our one year anniversary!

The only suggestion I would have is Etsy.com, I have gotten a lot of Disney Wedding items from there to make our Disney Wedding extra special! I would also suggest booking your wedding through a travel agent, I did it that way and she helped me "learn the ropes" and has been so patient with me :) If you would like her info I can pass it on to you, we have done everything via phone/email :)

PS yet again, so jealous you are in Aulani

We looked at this too! The minimums were pretty obtainable... but you have to guaruntee a 10 night room block and we couldn't do that if we were going by ourselves (with travel time--it only takes 2 hours to fly to WDW--you'd have to knock out 2 more days for Hawaii) :( It does look amazing! Let us know about all your plans!!

I highly recommend browsing the planning journals on these boards, listening to the inside Disney podcasts as well as visiting the Disney Weddings Blog for ideas:

There is a fantastic guide to Disney weddings but I'm not sure if it has been updated with any information on Aulani yet. Lurkyloo?

Happy planning and be sure to keep us updated with your plans! :)
