Our silver Florida resident AP's (on a payment plan) expire on 12/15. We decided to plan our first trip over NYE weekend to ring in the new year at Epcot. We will be upgrading our AP's to platinum on this renewal and I had some questions before doing it.

I would like to renew ASAP so that I can make fastpasses for our trip but am not sure how the payments will work if I renew/upgrade too early. Currently we pay a total of $58/mo for 2 silver seasonal passes, deducted on the 15th of the month. When we upgrade our passes our payment will increase to approximately $98/mo and the first payment is generally deducted on the same day or shortly thereafter. If I were to upgrade tomorrow, the $98 gets deducted at that time and then the $58 deducted on 11/15? I am not sure how that will work. I normally do not upgrade early since we never go in the month of December so we have not run into this before. Any info would be appreciated!!!

I saw this last night on my phone but didn't have time to type an answer... Sorry.

When you renew on the monthly payment plan, you're starting an entirely new one-year contract, and the first of 12 payments will be withdrawn more or less immediately (within 24-48 hours is what we tell people in person) even if you're renewing early.

So, if you still have remaining payments on the pass you're renewing, you will have what looks like "double billing." Only 12 payments will be withdrawn for each pass, but the last one/two for one and the first one/two of the other will just overlap in the same month(s).

To tl;dr this, the original assumption in your post is correct.

Thank you so much!
