I need to renew my shareholders card ready for my Christmas trip and am having a few problems. When I got my 1st shareholders card I filled in the shareholder club forms and faxed those along with a printed off copy of my shareholder certificate from my Halifax share dealing account and that was fine. Now I need to renew my card I am having some problems. I filled in my renewal form and faxed that plus a new print out of my shareholders certificate off. The lady at the Halifax bank said the certificate I could see online was the only proof they had of my shares. But the shareholders club have emailed back to say that the proof I sent was not enough as 1) it was a printed copy (which it was the 1st time and that was OK) and 2) the certificate is over 3 months old (which it always will be as the date on the certificate is the date I bought my shares) I thought that seen as the bottom of the page where I printed the certificate off had last weeks date on it then it would be OK. So now I don't know what to do to get suitable proof. I tried to phone up to ask but couldn't understand the instructions to speak to someone as the automated system is obviously in French! I have emailed to ask but have yet to recieve a reply. I would like to get this sorted as I ant my new card for my Christmas trip!

So has anyone else renewd their card and what proof was acceptable when you did this and how did you get the proof?

Thanks!

right, if memory serves me, when u log onto halifax, there is an option to see a statment?? u need to go into that and then print the statment off - this will show the date & time of u printing it off and be ur proof of the shares.

then, fax it thru to them, which is what i did and it worked!!

hope that helps AND makes sense lol

I'll give that a try, thanks. Although on the shareholders site it says that they will not accept internet print outs of statements. But it is worth a go!!
