Renewing Annual Pass On-Line

I will be renewing our annual passes on line and the information says they will be delivered by eCertificate. I assume they will have a number to link to MDE so that I can make fast passes.

Will I still have to stop at guest services to activate the eCertificate or will my Magic Band allow me to enter a park? The reason I ask is because we will be arriving late on Jan 2nd and plan on going directly to HS to catch the last hour of the Osborne Lights before HS closes. I am hoping we will not have to stop at guest services and can go right into the park on our Magic Bands since our time will be limited. Does anyone know?

I renewed mine on line it it just showed up in MDE, I didn't have to do anything for that part. I went to GS at Epcot to get it activated. You will have to have them activated and if you are going at night I would think GS at HS shouldn't be too bad. I literally walked right up to a window at Epcot and was done in about 2 min. What took the longest was she kept trying to give me another card and I had already received mine in the mail so I couldn't get her to understand I didn't need another one. I just printed out my confirmation from Disney and took it with me. Make sure you have photo ID.
