Hi -

has anyone eaten at Rendezvous since its been changed to a buffet? What's it like?

it was wonderful.
i liked the live music but also thought the food was great value for money.
my judgement may be clouded as it had my favourite dessert - iles flottantes.
there was a big selection of salads - from dolmades to tomato salad. loads of main courses including a fair veggie selection. the courgette gratin was lovely. prawns in garlic were yummy. the potato wedges were a bit dry but they served some in a pork dish that were fine.
and the desserts were great - the same as inventions except no chocolate fountain.
kids get little ratatouille colouring sets similar to the cafe mickey ones.

We ate there a few days ago and I agree the buffet was lovely.There was plenty of choice - and although it was more French cuisine in style (I had a lovely Beef Bourguignonne ) they also had pizza and pasta which was great for my son. The Pecan tart was fab!

I agree Iles flottantes is a delicious dessert. It translates as floating islands and is a 'blob' of soft meringue floating on a sea of creme anglaise - a very runny custard. It is then usually drizzled with sugar caramel.

When described it probably doesnt sound that nice but really is delicious

Your right it doesn't sound that nice but I will defo give it a try, that's 2 thumbs up it has received

I thought this sounded like a dessert I had at The Lucky Nugget so googled it to make sure and yes it's the same! I can confirm it's very very yummy!!
