Has anyone stayed here recently who can tell me what it's like please.

I have read some bad reviews on Tripadvisor and, although I generally take them with a pinch of salt, considering this is quite expensive, I really would like to hear some recent, honest reports before booking.

Thanks for your help

this is an older resort.

I haven't stayed there in years - it is out of my budget.

they do sometimes have a special on holiday.

It is a business hotel - not a vacation hotel.

Wilma bride,

I have posted a reply in another place, singing the hotel's praises, but the reponse here has reminded me that when we were at the Renaissance there was a large convention taking place.

Part of the lobby was taken over by the attendees for seminars etc. This did not bother us, in fact we were fascinated by it all, but I know from other reviews that some people on vacation found it to be obtrusive.

Stayed there in May w/ DH for our one year anniversary- got it for 129.00 a night - and specifically chose this hotel for it's proximity to Seaworld & DC-we didn't get to do that on our wedding trip so wanted to for our anniversary. I was really looking for a romantic getaway and was sold on having access to the club lounge-we wanted it to be a very adult trip as our most recent weekend trips have been for our two kids. The lounge was okay- but I would have been fine paying the 99.00 for a reg floor room- had to pay for wine/beer and the selection of foods were minimal. Not worth 30.00 more. We would have preferred the Marriott World Center but since we would only be there two nites and couldn't spend extra time at the resort the additional 150.00 a nite didn't make sense.

It was rather old fashioned in design throughout- athough the atrium was quite lovely. But it's a lobby; once you walk through-who cares? Overall it was not crowded at all and we breakfasted at the buffet both days-and were pleased w/ the food although it was pricey.

While I would not recommend hotel for anything but casual stays- it suited the purpose for that trip. I would not spend the extra $ for club level-it was so not worth it! I would have considere the AAA rate of $99 for a reg room to be a value at that location.
