Remy vs Palo? Food alone!

Food alone? Remy.

The atmosphere is uncomfortable to me,though. We aren't really into long dining experiences. My husband loved the food but has stated many times he doesn't care to go back. When cruising with girlfriends I found a nice balance of food, atmosphere, and length of meal at Remy's champagne brunch. Much prefer the brunch over dinner overall.

Palo dinners are Italian. Remy is French. I really prefer Remy. The menu is a lot more elegant. Truthfully, Palo is nice, especially the brunch, but I've had better meals on land and on sea. Remy truly blew me away.

We do both each cruise--six of one, half dozen of the other.

We prefer Palo--portions a lot bigger, the wine pairings a whole lot cheaper and just as good.

We've tried both. Palo is great but Remy is listed as my favorite restaurant in the world.

One of the dishes that was served to me I did not eat (just not a fan of foie gras/terrines)... they actually prepared me another dish (gnocchis) to compensate!

I'm obsessed with their kobe beef...

Remy, hands down. We always enjoy Palo but Remy is truly an experience. We also dropped more $$ than I care to mention there on our last visit, but it was a meal we'll remember forever.

Food quality alone

I have eaten at Palo and it was awesome, probably one of the top 5 dinners of my life and I have eaten at many Michelin star restaurants. I am not sure that Remy can top it, but I just read this... thoughts?

Without at doubt, Remy is better on both food and service. You might be interested in the reviews I did a couple of years ago for Foodietales on both Remy and Palo. The links are in my Sig below.

It depends what kind of Michelin restaurants you've eaten at and comparing to.

We've done a number of 3 stars in Paris (Bristol, Ledoyen, l'astrance, Pierre Gagnaire) and NYC (Eleven Madison, Daniels, Jean George, Per Se) and other cities. If you're comparing Remy to these restaurants, then no, the quality is not the same. I will say that service and presentation are definitely 3 star worthy, but the actual food isn't (and not surprising). That said, you're looking at paying something like $200+ per person without alcohol at any one of these restaurants..($295 at EMP, $325 at Per Se tasting menus only, per person) whereas it will be $85 at Remy. However, compared to some of the 1 star restaurants I've eaten at, yes Remy is definitely on par or better.

Remy! To me Palo is similar to your average Italian restaurant and the food isn't anything over the top.

Remy on the other hand is delicious!

Remy. I prefer the champagne brunch over dinner, but both are out of this world.
