Sorry if this should be in a different forum, I was unsure of where to post.

We have an upcoming stay at Pop as part of the Free Dining package, which requires 2 day Park Hopper Passes per guest. We have APs that will cover the stay and want to save the tickets that we have to buy as part of the package for our January trip. Do we ask about having this done at the front desk when we check in? At a parks Guest Services? Any experience having this done?

You need to go to Guest Services at any park entrance before first using your tickets and have them prioritize the order of your tickets, at least. I think they can remove them as well, but I am certain they can prioritize them so that your AP's are used first.

I created a fake person in my MDE profile and assigned my park hopper ticket to them when the ticket became active on check in day. That ticket can be reassigned to me when my annual pass expires. That was the easiest way to do it since I didn't have to visit guest relations to do it.

You can also have guest relations prioritize the ticket so it doesn't get used. Or you can have them put the ticket on a hard plastic card, which removes it from your MDE account. Just don't lose the card. ;)

If you go to "MagicBands and Cards" on MDE, you can deactivate certain tickets and bands. You don't lose them - it just makes them inactive until you're ready to use them and reactivate them.

I have read this before, and I can deactivate magic bands, but I have never seen an option to deactivate tickets. We have NE tickets on our bands that we want to be sure we don't use until we want to, and we have had APs for the past 2 years. We had to have them prioritized with the APs first, and once that was still messed up on our sons ticket and we spent a long time at guest relations trying to sort it out. Luckily we thought to check after using the tickets once, after they were supposedly prioritized, and somehow his still wasn't right. We ended up having to get a single day PH that is in our account, but we did not get an actual ticket so we somehow have to remember that we have it and not lose the piece of paper with the confirmation number on it, or forget why we have this piece of paper stuck with our tickets. They said there was absolutely no way to put it back onto his NE ticket on his magic band. I guess I digressed - I just meant to add that you can't always deactivate tickets (if you sometimes can, but when I asked at Guest relations this time after getting new APs I was told it isn't possible despite what I read online), and you have to get them prioritized and I would double check with 2 guest services that the prioritization is done correctly before using you magic bands.

Yes you can do this but it does nothing in regards to tickets and which are used by the system when you enter the park.
PP gave 2 options you can use to make sure the correct admission media is used.

Really? We have an AP for each of our children, as well as a few 3-day passes in our MDE account. I deactivated the tickets and only the AP was used for admission, and I didn't do anything to ensure "priority of use".

You got lucky in that the AP was already set with the highest priority.

It's worth searching on here and reading past posts about deactivating tickets. That really doesn't DO anything to prevent the ticket to be used. I can't remember the particulars well enough to explain it now but others here do. I know I learned enough that I would always prioritize the tickets, never rely on deactivation as it doesn't do a thing

We did this, too. We had 8 day tickets for all three of our kids for a March 2016 trip, and bought 3 day tickets for a Dec 2015 trip afterwards. We created a 4th kid and assigned all the 8 day tickets to that profile until our Dec trip was over.

I was hoping to try and do the fake kid route and transfer all the tickets to that one, but it won't let me transfer tickets that are assigned as part of a package. I don't trust Disney's technology and am worried about prioritizing tickets and having this get screwed up.

You should be able to transfer that ticket to anyone in your MDE but the ability to do this won't be available until after your vacation begins.

I had a day taken off of a 5-day pass that was assigned to me in MDE right after I purchased an annual pass AND used the actual pass (not my MB) to enter the park. A visit to guest services got it cleared up pretty quickly and none of my FP+ were affected. After I got it straightened out, I transferred the 5-day pass to A Guest in MDE so that it wouldn't happen again, even though the CM told me that she had prioritized the AP.

Thank you. I will try this on our way down, since we won't use park passes on day 1.

You have to wait until the morning of your check in day before you can reassign the ticket. I had my cell phone ready to log into my MDE account on the website as soon as the ticket became active. I ended up being able to transfer the ticket while riding the Magical Express to the resort. You can't reassign the ticket using the app. It has to be done on the website.

I'm also in the same situation. I worry they will mess up the priority. My DH has 4 days left on his NE pass that is on our MDE. We have new 5 days passes we want to use NOT the NE days. So we can create a phantom person and link the new 5 day pass to phantom. My DH could still use his MB for room key and fast pass, but use phantom's hard card tix for entry. Is that right, will that work?

Would anyone be able to advise if my scenario above would work? :confused3 We are not a part of any package.
Thanks!

It will work as long as Disney does not close the loophole that allows an unused admission media to access the FP+ system. If they close the loophole before your visit, then the answer will be no.
