I currently have a reservation at National in the EA for this July. It looks like we might need a minivan or an SUV because my in-laws will be renting 2 scooters while they're at WDW. I will be getting a back-up reservation for a minivan or SUV in case there's no appropriate vehicle in the EA.

A few years ago we rented a minivan from Dollar and were able to remove the back seat to make more room for the scooters. Then, Dollar disabled the system for removing seats and it was a squeeze to get a single scooter in the back. I don't see how we'll be able to fit 2 scooters if we can't remove the seats. Does anyone know of a company which will allow us to remove the back seat of a minivan?

Robin--Most of the rental companies won't let you remove a seat. Rental companies will accomadate the disabled (hand controls for example). You should be able to make a hard reservation (with cancellation penalty) and reserve a minivan without a third seat.

All of the minivans I have rented have come with a rule prohibiting the removal of any of the seats...

You may not be able to remove the rear seat, but you should be able to move it all the way forward and also fold it. We do that when we rent and then we are able to get my DD's wheelchair in the back without folding it or taking it apart. Her wheelchair is approximately 23 inches wide, 43 inches long and 37 inches tall. We usually rent a Dodge Grand Caravan if possible because it is a little longer than most other vans.
