Removing Pirate Makeup

We have a Narcoossee reservation for dinner on the day my son does the pirate league with makeup and I want to remove it before dinner. Several years ago he had his face painted with a red superhero mask in Toontown and I liked to NEVER get it off! Is the pirate makeup easier to get off? Anyone know of a better way to get off than soap and water (magic makeup removing wipes??)

LOL - I don't mind him looking like he has a 5 o'clock shadow. I'll have to pick some up. Just wasn't sure what worked on it!

Personally, I would use cleansing oil followed by a normal face cleanser, but I'm looking at it from a cosmetic/skin standpoint. I've heard that heavy makeup can be removed with a drugstore cold cream, like Pond's or Albolene, but I've never tried that method!

My suggestion is to rub some make-up primer on his face before he even goes to the pirate league and gets his face painted. Primer puts a barrier between the make-up and his face and makes it much easier to take off.

The heavy eye makeup was difficult to get off of my son. He looked like he was wearing mascara until we finally got a hold of some makeup wipes!

Neutrogena remover wipes (these are the baby blue packaged ones), some sort of eye-specific remover, preferably oil-based, and plain old baby oil for anything stubborn. Use Q-Tips for stubborn bits around the eyes.

AFAIK most of the makeup used for those looks is simple water-based facepaint, which is usually easy enough to remove (and also the reason why I see lots of angry parents reviewing with complaints of it dripping off with heat/sweat or food). I've also seen their people using some sort of red pencil liner for the looks with 'scars' and possibly some form of fake blood. Those two will necessitate the oil-based removers as they are made with waxes and other emulsifiers to help them last longer.

My DD was Ursula in her schools play The Little Mermaid and had tons of make up on. We removed it with Jojoba oil. Any thick make up we use jojoba oil. I get it at Trader Joes. It worked wonderful and her skin was smooth. No fragrance either.

I used Mary Kay eye makeup remover to remove my son's pirate makeup. A simple cleanser and water removed the white makeup easily, but I needed the eye makeup remover for the black makeup. It really worked well.
