Remind me about release dates

What was the release schedule for 2016? Obviously things change from year to year and, if I remember correctly, the 2016 releases were later than 2015, but my family is asking for ballpark dates.

Winter from January to March 2017 will be out in October. Summer 2017 out in March 2016. September onwards out later in June. Same schedule past two years.

Is it still cheaper to book a "dummy" cruise date while on board the ship with the 10% discount, or is it cheaper to book when the date is first released?

Book on release also then re shop it on the cruise. Often if you wait to the cruise the price has gone up more than 10% and things like Main dinner sold out. If it's still cheaper cancel and rebook then ( ex concierge where deposit is non refundable).

This was our plan. We booked Alaska on opening day in March. Our plan was to reshop it on board during our upcoming cruise in October. Unfortunately, the price is already beyond any onboard discount we would receive so instead we'll probably be booking a placeholder.
