We went to MGM during its 2nd year and I have some very fuzzy memories about things that do not seem to be there any longer.

We we did the backstage tour, I remember going from the water tank to an audio stage where they showed us about adding sound and cutting back and forth between long and closeup shots for the Return of the Jedi fight scene between Luke and Darth Vader. Also after leaving that there was a HUGE rope line area to get into the cars or maybe it was just a separate attraction and not tied to the water tank show. We got lucky since there was only two of us we got to skip the entire rope queue and wait standby filler.

A tour of something ended in a theater that had a show where the demon from Fantasia was trying to find a seat, started to swell up to full size and yell at the person behind him and then said "Oh, excuse me Mr. Eisner".

I also remember when Image Works was upstairs in the Imagination Pavilion and had so many more things to do!!

Nothing compares to the Gold Key Plan. We used to take the water sprites out every day, play golf, rent golf carts over in the Village, and somehow still managed to visit MK and Epcot. The best by far was mealtime. We ate every meal like it was going to be our last.

At the end of each day we figured how much we were spending. On the 4th night of our 8 night trip we were having dinner at the Empress Lilly. I can't recall the name but it was the fanciest and most expensive of the three restaurants. The bill was over $300. I'll never forget my dad getting up from the table at the end of the meal and proudly declaring, "Well, we're using Walt's money now!".

They still do, over by the Haunted Mansion!

I was there in November and my DS10 didnt want to go on Space Mountain. I tried to bribe him ($$$) to no avail. Until he saw the invisible dogs, he said he would go on if I bought him one. To my surprise they were only $4!! That was a cheap deal! He could have bought 5 of them for what I was willing to bribe him with in cash!!

I was there in 1976 and remember the bi-centinial parade where the cast members in the parade has costumes with HUGE heads and were all dressed in old fashioned dress. It was the one of the only parades that I remember not having alot of characters.

We were there in 75 and they had the same parade, because that was our first trip to WDW, (Only MK at the time), and I still have the pictures of the parade that I took.

And YES the People Mover will always be the People Mover to me. My DH recently asked me about the TTA and if we had ridden it and when I said its the People Mover, he said Oh, Okay.

Some of the things that are described for WDW also apply to DL too. I remember when Mission to Mars was Mission to the Moon. When the CoP left DL and went to WDW and was replaced by America Sings. When we were hearing about Space Mountain and it finally came to DL.

But give me the original DL & WDW version of POTC not the politically correct version any day.

Remeber when you had to pay attention to bus colors and not signs?

We were just talking about this last week. DH is partially color-blind, and got lost one night because he got on the wrong bus! After that, he never went anywhere without me!

I remember when the Tomorrowland Speedway had the little paper driver's licenses (from 1973), and staying at the Contemporary for under $50 a night. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Haunted Mansion were my favorites!

Different Tune, The old one was better in my opinion. Maybe that's because it is my mom's favorite ride. And I grew up listening to it.

I remember when after they had stopped the tickets A rides, etc you got a paper ticket and had to show it to go on the rides. Everyone would buy a large Disney button and pin it to the shirts, so they did not have to keep pulling them out.

Of course, "old one" is in the eye of the beholder. It's a great big beautiful tomorrow is the original one. Not at disney, but at the 64-65 World's Fair when I first went on GE's Carousel of Progress. They changed the tune for WDW (and Disneyland I assume)

In the scene where the women are chasing the pirates, it used to be the other way round except for the heavy set woman chasing the pirate. She didn't have a broom in the original version, she was just trying to catch him. Also the pirate sitting in front of the barrel with the girl in it, used to hold part of her dress.

When they changed it to being politically correct, they took out where the girls are being chased and had them chasing the pirates.

We call it the Peoplemover too!!! My sons are too young to remember it being anything other than TTA, but they even call it the Peoplemover because that's what my dh and I call it!

This is mine too. Every now and then you see one of the penny picture shows sitting on its own somewhere around the MK, but I have no idea where the other things went.

My other one is the wizard's lab shooting gallery that used to be in the game room at the Contemporary, with things that moved when you shot them, including a huge wizard. That game room used to be the best.
