There was a time when membership really had it's privilages. That was when the Magic Kingdom Club existed and you could buy a passport to Disneyland when everyone else had to buy ticket books. The passport gave MKC members the ability to enjoy unlimited rides all day long. The same thing we all enjoy today. I was just reading an old MKC Disney News magazine from 1980 (not that long ago, right?) Here's how much that one day Disneyland Passport cost.
Adults $8.50 Juniors (12-17) $8.00 Children (3-11) $7.50 Parking was .50 cents. Oh yeah, and the park was closed on Monday's and Tuesdays during winter, spring and fall. Except for holiday periods.

A 2-day passport at the MK in WDW was $18.25, $16.25 and $14.25 for the different age groups. Of course that was only for the MK since the other parks did not exist yet.

I just thought people might find this trivia interesting.

I remember the MKC. Going even further back, I remember CTA (California Teachers' Association) Days at Disneyland when the park was closed to the general public and we could get in for $5.00. Those were the days!!

Wow -- I remember the MKC and its membership cards.

I remember the Magic Kingdom Club. And I also remember that Disneyland used to be closed Monday, Tuesday and I think sometimes Wednesday too - depending on the season. My how things have changed!

Speaking of the good old days. Remember when the park would be open til 1 or 2 am throughout the summer? Of course today, I don't think I could stay out that late. Who am I kidding? Sure I could.
