I was just thinking about some of the old attractions that I experienced and loved when I was younger. Thought it would be nice to start a thread to reminisce about old shows and attractions.

Please share what rides shows you miss. Any funny or memorable experiences on them, any photos of the old shows and attractions....:)

Here's what I miss the most...I know some of them are corny attractions, but I loved them anyways...:lovestruc

-The whole Wonders of Life Pavilion!! This was one of my favorites!! I loved Body Wars and Cranium Command. They used to have a fun show called....was it Kitchen Cabaret? It was a bunch of dancing and singing food in a fridge singing fun plays on songs from the Police and stuff....We loved that playground that was in there and they made our family's favorite CS restaurant in all of WDW! :cutie:

-Mr. Toad's Wild Ride of course! I want to do to DLR just to go on this again! Why did they get rid of it anyways?? :confused3

-The Horizons Pavilion. For me, that attraction always used to symbolize Epcot as a whole, even more so than the big ball itself!

-20,000 Leagues...a classic! Some people found this one boring, but it was one of my brother's favorites & I thought it was fun-much more fun than what that area is today....:sad2:

-Delta's Dream Flight. I know, it was kinda lame, but there was something about this fun. To me it was classic WDW!

-The old version of the Figment ride and the old version of The Land Boat Tour. I liked it better when it had an actual CM tour guide and that annoying song that was forever stuck in your head afterwards!!

-Captain EO!!

Anyways, please share your old favs, any stories, and/or pics!! :)

For some reason I miss Delta Dream Flight. I just remember liking this when I was little...same with Mr. Toad although when I went on it at Disneyland I didn't like it that much.

I know! I don't know what it was about Delta Dream Flight! My brother and I loved it! Especially the queue area....we really felt like we were at the airport about to board a plane, which is weird because it's not like we had never boarded a plane before! :confused3

That was another one that had a song that got stuck in your head for hours...how did that song go?

I don't really remember a theme for Dream Flight, but before it was DDF, it was "If You Had Wings," sponsored by Eastern, then the official airline of WDW. IYHW had a very catchy song that I you end up humming all day. Here are the lyrics:

If you had wings, you could do many things
You could widen your world, if you had wings
Chorus: If you had wings, if you had wings, if you had wings, had wings, had wings, had wings, had wings
You could fly to a plaza, where the people play
At the Mexican fiesta, in the land of ole
Chorus
You could fly to Bermuda, like a flying fish
Have a ball on a cruise ship, or catch fish if you wish
Chorus
Wanna buy a sombrero, made of real fine straw?
How about a nice handbag, for pretty mama?
Chorus
You could follow a tradewind, down to Old San Juan
And explore an old fortress, before traveling on
Chorus
You could flitter and flutter, to the isle of springs
To that emerald green garden, and do wonderful things
Chorus
You could fly with flamingos, to that old French town
Go on regale New Orleans, wear the carnival crown
Chorus
You do have wings, you can do all these things,
You can widen your world, for you have wings

Kitchen Kabaret was in the Land Pavilion. It was replaced by Food Rocks, which had parodies of popular songs by The Police and others. It was located more or less where the queue area for Soarin' now is. :)

When Pirates had two drops in it. Also when it wasn't Politically Correct. LOL

Woops-sorry about that!! I LOVE Soarin', but I wish they kept this too!

What was the difference between Kitchen Kabaret and Food Rocks? I thought it was the same attraction, just changed name??

I miss the non-PC version of POTC too! When I visited the MK for the first time after several years, I was dumbstruck on the changes! They were small but noticeable to me anyways. I also miss Horizons, the World of Motion, Delta Dream Flight, and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. I also miss the old Living with the Seas. I liked being in the buggy and being surrounded by the aquarium on all sides. It blew my mind. I should note here, however, that the movie used to scare me to death! I wanted more happy bunnies in the movie.

Okay, I feel like the memory police here. ;)

PotC at WDW never had two drops. It has always had the single drop it currently has. PotC at DL has two drops.

Or was there a joke there that I'm missing? :)

They weren't the same show. Kitchen Kabaret was styled somewhat after an old 1930's vaudeville production and was hosted by a housewife name Bonnie Appetit, who was worried about what she was going to prepare for dinner that evening. She introduced acts like "Mr. Dairy Goods and his Stars of the Milky Way" and "Hamm n' Eggz" that taught about the four food groups. None of the music featured in it was based off of rock songs.

Food Rocks featured animatronics that sang parodies of rock songs, like Pita Gabriel singing "High Fiber" (a parody of "Sledgehammer") and The Peach Boys singing "Good Nutrition" ("Good Vibrations"). Many of these characters were voiced by the actual artists themselves, such as Chubby Checker providing the voice for Chubby Cheddar. :)

I miss The World of Motion sooo much. Everytime I look at test track I frown...I want world of motion back!!!!

It's definately Food Rocks that I'm thinking of. I feel for certain that I've also seen Kitchen Kabaret, just don't remember it as much.

Could you refresh me on the World of Motion attractions? I remember my brother & I loving it, but I can't recall the details. Geez I went to WDW every year from late 70's till mid 90's, it's weird what I remember and what I forget!
