I was there! Early this morning, DH, I , and and few others staked out a spot across the river in Glouscter City, NJ.

It was a fun time., being able to watch it, and see the smoke arise.

I may be able to post pictures later.

Thanks for the link, Dan!

In a way, those implosions are cool to watch. I was in GA when they imploded the old Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium after the Olympics (and IIRC they imploded the Omni Coliseum not long afterward for a new arena).

That was so cool to watch!

It was sad to see it go. We have many happy memories of the Vet. It was a cool thing to watch though. Haven't been to the Link yet, but folks I know who have been say it isn't the same. More cold, and you can't hear the roar of the crowd as well. Oh well, time marches on.

I have to say this makes me so sad. :(

Don't know why exactly. I spent a lot of time there. Phillies games, Eagles games and a few concerts.

No you're not weird. My first date with DH was there as well at the Vet!

I feel like I grew up at the Vet- my uncle had season tickets to the Phillies, and my dad and I went to about 30 games a year. It is sad, part of my childhood is gone, wonderful memories that can never be recreated.

It was really sad to see the Vet go today! I have had many good times at the Vet, as has my boyfriend who actually played a couple of baseball games in there! While I never went to an Eagles game, the Phillies were always good! I saw Bon Jovi in there last summer, and the place rocked! Like some of the other posters, the new parks aren't just the same! And we aren't weird! I know lots of friends that went down, took video a few days ago, went down today to take the after video...it's a part of our history, and now it's gone!

I saw the video of the implosion on tv today. Just amazing how that can take down such a large structure in such a small amount of time.
