Born and raised in NY, we moved from Long Island last year to Palm Beach. 2 1/2 hours south of Orlando, we both found jobs making either the same as we were of very close...we love it here! My hubby is a construction foreman and I am an office manager-for a construction office, ironically.
Orlando is a really tough neighborhood to judge...lots of tourists and colleges, equal high crime. We have stayed off property and I am very glad we chose Palm Beach Gardens-Outside Disney and its magic are some scary places. Winter park, Lake Buena Vista-those are much better areas in Orlando with better schools. Here are a few demographic links to help you:

The best county in Florida for schools is Martin County, just north of Palm Beach, FYI...
