Has anyone heard if they will have any services on property just for the holiday (I know they have discontinued them otherwise). If not does anyone know where we can attend Catholic services?
Hi, I asked Jeremy at GF concierge about this and he called Mary Queen if the Universe for me. 6 and midnight on Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day I'm pretty sure he said 7:30, 9:30, 11:30 & again at 6:00pm. He told me that they had discontinued the masses on property. Have fun. I can hardly wait myself. Won't Florida feel good after the weather we've been having?
www.maryqueenoftheuniverse.org is the web site for the Shrine and it will give you directions and Mass times. I believe Christmas is usually the same as Saturday/Sunday with the addition of the Midnight Mass.
The Shrine is very near the Crossroads Shopping Center/DD and right on top of the new Premium Outlet Center. Basically, you head out Hotel Blvd. as if you were going to Gooding's but instead of going straight across into the shopping center you turn right. Get into the left-hand lanes and pass under the highway. Turn left at Little Lake Bryan (just shortly after passing under the highway). This road will take you right to the Shrine. It's very beautiful and they do a wonderful Christmas mass.

When and why did they discontinue the religious services? We've always attended services at Luau Cove (last time was back in July), and we've always looked forward to our morning trip over to the Polynesian.
It wasn't a clergy problem. It was just a decision on Disney's part to discontinue offering this service for guests. I don't think any real reason was ever given.
I just did a search and the reply to an e-mail from Disney said in essence they could no longer provide a facility large enough for all of their guest who would like to attend. It also said that the surrounding community had expanded as well and gave the Shrine as an example of where someone could attend services.
Thanks PamOKW!
It was interesting to see how many threads came out of this and one even got locked
