Relentless Availability Checking

Hi everyone,

Tonight, I just wanted to share my reservation building progress. For the past two weeks, I have been trying to piece together a 4- or 5-night stay during the third week of December. I have been logging into the DVC member website several times a day, sometimes hourly.

Much to my surprise, I have been able to piece together three nights at Bay Lake Tower in a standard view studio; I have the first, third and fourth night, but am missing the second. A few days ago, I was able to secure the third, fourth and fifth night at Bay Lake Tower in a lake view studio, but am waiting on the first and second.

Today, our first, second and third night were available at Beach Club for a studio. However, to book this reservation, I had to give up my second and fourth night at Wilderness Lodge because I needed to free up points.

So, what would you guess will be the first reservation to completely come together? Would you anticipate the single night at Beach Club, single night at BLT (standard view) or the first two nights at BLT (lake view)?

Also, persistance and relentless checking is getting me much further than my waitlist requests.

BLT Lake view should be easy this far out. I was able to book a 9 night BLT stay starting with just 1 night. Over 2 months I was able to get 8 more nights.

1 night booked at start.
4 nights from stalking in first 2 weeks.
3 nights got from waitlist (2 single nights, then created 1 more single night)

You should however not get so worked up spending your time doing this. Pick a resort you want to stay at and go with it. I did not want "stalk" anymore so I bought a resale BLT contract. Now I will always book at 10-11 months and change at 7 if something else comes free I want.

Best of luck 2 u.

If it doesn't work out, I encourage you to embrace the split stay. It is so convenient to get to EPCOT and DHS from BC, and then you could do MK and AK from BLT.

I would gladly embrace the split stay, but 3 moves would be a little much for us. I am trying to modify our original reservation because my work schedule now conflicts with our initial dates. It is my hope to spend the first part of our reservation at VGF, which we have booked, and the last few days at BLT. I know that none of the resorts are far, but taking the monorail over to BLT just seems to be the most convenient move from VGF.

Remember you can't take your luggage on the Monorail.

Honestly, we are not concerned about luggage as we have planned on having it transferred. Although it may sound incredibly lazy, we like the idea of checking out of VGF, hopping on the monorail and checking into BLT.
