Relay for Life walk, a beautiful day for it!

My 12 year old is going to be walking in the Relay for Life walk (a benefit walk for the American Cancer Society) today and over night. The weather today is beautiful! He is very excited about it and has raised $455.00! I'm very proud of him!

To anyone else who is walking today I just want to say thank you and good luck for a successful walk!

Kudos to your son! I hope he enjoys being part of such a wonderful event. I have captained teams in the past and spent a couple of years on the local Relay for Life committee. It is amazing how many lives are touched by cancer. Your son is doing a wonderful thing by participating.

Glad you are having good weather for it. Relay for Life is an amazing event especially the luminaria ceremony. Ours is next Friday hoping we don't get rain.

Thanks! We are going to see his old preschool teacher at the walk. She was diagnosed with cancer in the fall, her Dr. at Sloan-Kettering said it was the worst case he had ever dealt with. She is doing amazingly well, and it will be awesome to finally see her; I couldn't see her during the winter due to all the different "bugs" I get exposed to working in early childcare.

It is going to be an awesome day and night for my son. Snoopybabe, good luck with your walk. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the weather will be as nice for your walk as it is today for his.
