We are traveling to Disney in July. We have two teenagers now( boy and girl) and really can no longer stay in a room with two beds. We also love to take mid day breaks by the pool, but it seems like the resorts with a third bed like Poly, Beach/Yacht and Boardwalk have very lively pools. Our favorite pool was at Animal Kingdom Lodge because of the landscaping and quieter areas in the shade. Can anyone recommend a resort that they think might cover both needs? Thanks so much!

Boulder Ridge Studio at WL? One queen bed, one double sleeper sofa and one bunk sized murphy bed (not sure if one of your kids will fit on that or not).

AKV-Kidani, 1BR villa...sleeper sofa plus a sleeper chair, 1K bed in the bedroom, two bathrooms. Access to pools at both Jambo and Kidani.

AKL and WL both offer bunk bed rooms, as do the Cabins at Ft Wilderness, one queen and bunk beds!

I am in the same situation - BWI studios have two queens and the pull down Murphy - my 21yo daughter fits fine. BWI has a great quiet pool behind the main pool and we spend all our pool time there, in fact one trip we had a ground floor studio with a patio by the quiet pool area.

Same with Beach Club Studios - the quiet pool is in back by the DVC area and was very relaxing.

As mentioned above boulder ridge also offers the studio with the murphy bed but we didn't use the pool when we stayed here so I can't comment on the liveliness of the pool areas :)

All of the resorts you mention have "quiet" pools in addition to the main pools. We particularly like the quiet pool at Boardwalk. If you enjoy the pool at AKL, I would consider booking a 1- or 2-bedroom villa at AKV-Kidani or Jambo. I think you would enjoy the pools at WL as well. You could do a WL deluxe room or book a 1- or 2-bedroom villas at Boulder Ridge or Copper Creek.

Boardwalk has TWO quiet (leisure) pools, one on the Inn side and one on the Villas side. Both are very nice.

If you book at one bedroom villa at Boulder Ridge or Copper Creek, they only have one king bed and one queen sleeper sofa. You'd need a two bedroom to get at least three beds.

Yes! - and a traditional room with bunk beds at WL or a studio at BR with a murphy is much more affordable !

Bunk beds may not be big enough for teenagers, if they are taller than 5 feet. Stayed at WL in a bunk bed room and the bunk beds are not really that long. Read another post that said the same thing, adult (and most teenagers are approaching adult height) really won't fit in bunkbed.

Hi- we have the same situation with our teen DD and DS. How we’ve addressed is I order a $30 air mattress from Amazon and have it sent to the resort ahead of time, since we fly to Orlando. Much less expensive than getting two rooms or a 2 BR villa, which seemed to be the only viable options to accommodate them. At the end of our trip I leave it behind. We’ve been in a one bedroom villa when we’ve done this at WDW but have also stayed in other hotel rooms throughout the country when we travel and it works well.

Interesting as my sister had no issues and shes fairly tall and more recently my college age dd's had no issues with the size of the bed - although neither really enjoyed sleeping on the top bunk as they grew up in bunkbeds :)

IME they seem to be traditional bunk beds with twin mattresses.

My experience is the same. I stayed there with my two teen sons who were about 5'7 and 5'10 (I think?) and they had no complaints about the size of the bunk beds.

The oasis pool at the Poly is quite relaxing. And if you book a villa at the Poly you get three sleeping spaces. The Murphy bed is pretty small, but I’m 5 foot 4 and took a nap on it quite comfortably one day.

You also have two showers in those rooms.

We were a deluxe family until we outgrew the one room. I really hated it too because I was loving club-level! Anyway, we decided to give two rooms a try at Pop and were so delighted that it’s become our current fave. It’s great having the extra room (and bathroom) of two rooms. Plus, the kids love having their own bed and TV. And I don’t know who loves shutting the connecting door more, dad or the kids! Admittedly, the pools aren’t as fancy as the deluxes, but there are some pools that are hidden gems at the values. Anyway, I love all the other recommendations you’ve been given. I just wanted to add what worked for us.

So many great ideas, thanks so much everyone! I love planning our trips almost as much as taking them, so I can’t wait to dig in and research all of these suggestions.
