Relaxing at POP? AKL?

How does one relax at POP if it is rainy or cold and the pool isn't an option? Are you left with only your room for quiet relaxation?

I ask this because I enjoyed just sitting around at WL during our stay there. The furniture was comfy, the music fun but not too loud or annoying. I could just simply relax, enjoy my surroundings, and people watch or read. Now I'm considering a stay at POP in January, and though we use the resort mainly for sleeping/showering we may also feel the need to escape the room and yet have some quiet time after the parks. Does that exist at POP? What about AKL? I'd like to assume that AKL will be similar to WL in terms of relaxation, but I assume nothing!

Thy realy dont have any "general public" type lobbies to relax in at the POP.

I don't know about "quiet", but Pop does have an indoor lounge that you could sit in and have drinks....we alwasy bring our portable DVD player and pick up a few new movies before a trip.

That's one of the things we love best about AKL is the relax time. Just sitting on one of the many viewing balconies, or on your room balcony and watching the animals, or even hanging out in the lobby around the fire pit, etc. VERY relaxing.

One of the best memories we had was just sitting on our balcony during a thunderstorn and watching how all the animals reacted (some hid, some couldn't care less).

Love it.

what we found to do on the one day it rained during our trip in january, b4 it slowed down enough to head to epcot, was to resort hop over to ak,l and sit in the lobby area, and wander around. rainy days are great to check out the other resorts!!! that way you are basically out of the rain, but yet still feel like you are doing something!

* though after breakfast dh and ds hung out in the arcade at pop, while i shopped,lol!

Ive came to the conclusion that AKL is a resort thats ALL About relaxation. You have everything there! Three places to eat, a bar, pool bar, awesome pool, gym, the savannahs, an awesome lobby, arcade, etc.

Since AKL is the furthest from all the other parks, I feel that if we ever want to go up for a night or two just to hang out, this is the place to be!

Pop was awesome because it was clean and relatively new when we went. But there is very little to do other than the arcade and bars. I enjoyed it as a place to kick it to for a shower and some shut eye...not much more.
