Related to anyone famous?

My 1st cousin is Tom DeLonge, singer from Blink 182. Not close with him at all as his father and my mother had a falling out a number of years ago.

A former employee of mine is the sister of Casper Van Dien (lead in Starship Troopers, among other things).

Dh's mom is an Earp and "supposed" to be related to one of the Earp brothers (Wyatt never had kids). But we've never been able to verify it yet. His parents are both dead. No other close family to consult.

I am a direct descendent of Zachary Taylor, 12th President of the US and through him a descendent of Lawrence Washington, the half-brother of George Washington.

From the other side of the family I am a descendent of the Lakota Sioux Sitting Bull.

At least this is what my aunt who has researched the family history says.

I’m supposedly related to Lewis (of Lewis and Clark) and a captain of the U.S.S. Constitution. :cool1:

Then we might be related! Actually, you might be related to my husband as well. We are both cousins to Meriwether Lewis. My husband is a Meriwether (Lewis' mother's maiden name was Meriwether-hence his given name) and I am a Lewis.

I'm also related to Barak Obama, Dick Cheney, Robert Duvall, Harry S Truman, Sen. John Glenn, Dr. Benjamin Rush, Charles Carroll and lots more including quite a few British kings. I have 8 ancestors who fought in the Revolutionary War. I have been researching my family since 1994, quite heavily since 2002 and I can go back at least 300 years on all branches. I can go back into the 800s for one branch. I love doing research and spend all of my free time off of school tracing my roots! If you haven't started doing yours, you really should. It's time consuming but very rewarding!

My mother's 3rd cousin is Shirley Jones making Shaun Cassidy my-gasp-4th cousin (we're all Rushes)! Now I know why I've always (to this day) loved him :hippie: My younger daughter looks EXACTLY like he did as a young teenager, including the body shape (he was skinny) and facial expressions. I have pictures of both of them and they look like twins. :rotfl2: I always wondered who she looked like since she doesn't quite look like either me or my husband. Now I know she looks like a Rush!

Oh, I just got a reminder from said daughter who couldn't care less about any of the above. Being a teenager and a Disney girl, she's more excited that her cousin (my husband's 1st cousin) wrote the movie "Starstruck" which premiered on the DC on 2/14. If you have kids, you'll know which movie I mean. We were very excited for her!

My DH is related to Bob Dylan. Dylan is not his real last name.

OMG NO WAY!!! Haha I LOVE Tom DeLonge!

My dad says he has a first cousin who is a TV show writer and was a writer on Judging Amy.

My maternal grandmother was a published poet w/ several books, but not really famous. Irene Aurelia Blim.

My ex (my son's father) is a musician. Not blood related, but we share a child so close enough. He has played in several bands, but currently is on tour w/ a country singer who was named one of the Top 10 up and coming country artist of 2010 by Country Weekly. He spent all summer on tour w/ Toby Keith and Trace Adkins and is currently on the Eric Church tour.

I'm not related to too many famous people in the states. I'm related to a few soccer players who play for major teams in Europe, though.

We may or may not be related to Walt Whitman, although I'm not sure.

Not related to anyone famous.

Mom and dad were at a party when the hosts got a call that Paul McCartney was on his way. Sadly, instead of staying, my dad made them leave, and they didn't meet him. Dad says that night changed everything in their relationship

May I ask why they left and why that changed everything in the relationship?

I understand if you rather not talk about it.

On my mom's side I am related to both Betsy Ross and Patirck Henry as well as General George Custer.

On my dad's side I am related the the Wright Brothers.

Family lore has it that I am related--by marriage--to Betsy Ross. My grandmother's maiden name was Ross.

Not nationally famous more regionally famous, I am related to Jenny Wiley. She has a state park in Kentucky named after her.

My DH is a Lakota (Sioux).
His great grandfather was Chief Red Horse who fought Custer at the battle of little big horn. He drew ledger drawings of the battle that are in the Smithsonian.

On my father's side of the family, a signer of the Declaration of Independance: Charles Carroll of Carrollton.

My father is a half brother to a former San Francisco 49er. I never met him though.
When I was a teenager I lived next door to a country singer. One of his friends was a famous person from a popular 70's group.
Long ago I was a waitress and met Pam Tillis. She was nice. Waited on Vern Gosden too, He was a jerk

My son-in-law's great uncle was the creator of Betty Boop...he was also involved in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs!
