Hi everyone. I just got a call from the Director of HR from a local retail company. I had applied for an Assistant Buyer job a while back, and my resume for this position was passed on to her by a former boss of DH (that she works with- pretty high up in the company). Anyway, she called me to tell me that this lady had passed along my resume to her, but they were looking for someone who had Assistant Buying experience (thus far, I have been an Administrative Assistant OUT of retail). She did say that she wanted to meet with me over coffee in a week or two to answer any questions I have (not sure what that means?) and touch base. This is a good thing right? Anyone have HR experience? This is a good thing, right? I don't think that there is a job open there right now... so I hope it's not a waste of time...
I know they always say "we'll keep your resume on file"... do they REALLY do that? I hope this meeting brings about good things, especially since it's the Director of HR and not a recruiter.
Oh... to the $$$ thing... it always goes back to $$ doesn't it? UGH. Well, I am employed right now (which I am SO thankful for), but I make $11.24 an hour, doing a job with the workload of 3 people, AND I have a bachelor's degree. SO, needless to say, I'm ready to make a change.
