I was a member of Netflix for a few years before quiting about a year ago, but am rejoining. Name movies that have come out in the last year or so that you've enjoyed.

we really liked "transformers: revenge of the fallen", both "national treasure" films, "eagle eye", "27 dresses", "confessions of a shopaholic"...maybe this helps a little, lol.

I want to see Shopaholic, I forgot all about that one. I've never seen National Treasure either, I'll have to add those two to my queue.

The only two I could think of wanting to see were Julie and Julia, (which isn't even out yet,) and the Ugly Truth, but I know there are a ton I want to see, that I just forget about.

I actually just rejoined as well! I'm using it to catch up on TV more than anything, but I rented 'The Proposal' and it's adorable.

Transformers 2 was awesome and Star Trek is out pretty soon too. I'll look up my list and post it later.

I've been catching up on tv series. I'm watching Mad Men now. So good! I just looked at my queue to see what I had in there. Monsters vs. Aliens, GI Joe, and the Proposal. I haven't seen any of them but am looking forward to it. Here's one not to get... Land of the Lost. What a waste!

Suggestions of ones to add: Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, Imagine That, Wolverine, Tranformers 2

Blech - I hated National Treasure.

Get my all time favorite movie, ever - Some like it Hot. :thumbsup2

Awesome:

If you didn't see "Up," it HAS to be on your queue.

Also, here is a good website to find out the recent new releases. Since Neflix isn't good at representing the new releases all the time, I use this site:

http://www.imdb.com/boxoffice/rentals

i've noticed this about netflix as well. i would very much like to see a page on there each tuesday showing what is being released that day.

I agree. I tried everything to find the latest released movies and there is no way to do it. I even sorted ever movie that they have by date, but they don't have all the movies on that list. It's unfortunate. So far, this IMDB list and darkhorizons are my only resources.

I remember seeing the preview for Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, adding that to my queue now. :goodvibes

We have Blockbuster online mainly because I have a TV obsession and like to watch whole series at once. We watch movies too, but Netflix is GREAT to watch shows and I find the writing and characters to be much better on TV nowadays.

1. Mad Men
2. True Blood
3. Chuck
4. Arrested Development (funniest show ever!)
5. 30 Rock
6. Weeds

Those are just a few of my favorites :thumbsup2

I just checked my account to see recent movies I have rated 5 stars... I see tons so I have plenty more suggestions, if you want just ask anytime.

Taken
Bucket List
Bourne Ultimatum
Becoming Jane
17 again
21
Cloverfield
The Dark Knight
X-Men origins, Wolverine
GI Joe
Horton Hears a Who
I love you man
Indiana Jones/Crystal Skull
Juno
Jane Austen Book club
Knocked up (rude but hilarious)
No Country for Old Men
Quantum of Solace
Shooter

Star Trek
3:10 to Yuma
I am Legend
The Kingdom

I always freshen up my queue by checking what does well in theaters on Rotten Tomatoes and then save it so when it drops into DVD it goes onto my list automatically. All I need to do is move it from the bottom of the list to the top this way I miss nothing:thumbsup2

My Sister's Keeper and Four Christmas are being released this month. They are already in my que so I don't forget

4. Arrested Development (funniest show ever!)

+100

Best show ever. I don't know why it wasn't renewed after season 3. Maybe because it was on Fox? The writing is so intricate and just ... PERFECT. Everything comes together in ever episode. Did you know that each episode of Arrested Development would take 3 to 4 times as long to write because Ron Howard and Mitchell Hurwitz wanted everything to be perfect.

Each episode has subtle jokes that you won't recognize until rewatching a few times. Obviously there are many more obvious jokes as well.

I don't want to derail the thread, but anyone who hasn't had the privilege of watching a season of Arrested Development should rent it ASAP if you enjoy comedy.

We have August Rush right now. It was very good! another that is in our queue is Night at the Museum 2( out Dec. 1). We saw it at the movies, now looking forward to watching it again at home. We also loved The Proposal :thumbsup2.

Awesome! I love Marilyn...and that movie is so cute and funny. I think Jack Lemmon steals the show, which is quite impressive when you are in a movie with MM.

We have My Sisters Keeper in our queue. My DD15 borrowed the book from me and after she read it, she put it as #1 on our queue.

The last movie we got was "Heathers". I have really been getting into 80's movies. I think the death of John Hughes (RIP) spawned that.

I think "Heathers" still stand the test of time. And yes, I know its not a Hughes film, but I have a love for the 80's. I'm glad I saw Back To The Future when it opened in the theaters.

I just thought of a recommendation :Shawshank Redemption. I LOVE that movie. Speaking of Morgan Freeman, I watch an indie film starring him called 10 Items or Less that I really, really liked.
