I didnt want to hijack Barb Ds thread Life after death so I thought Id start another. For those who believe in reincarnation, this is something that, after thinking about it, I dont understand, for these reasons:
I am an individual, who I am reflects not only my physical self, my body, hair, eye color etc, but my likes and dislikes, my passions, my beliefs, everything Ive experienced so far in my life, everyone with whom Ive come in contact with who has in some way, big or small, made any type of impact. There is no one else exactly like me (or you or any of us).
Therefore, if I am reincarnated, then the person I am reincarnated into would have the same interests, the same beliefs, the same memories for they are part of what makes up me. Maybe I do not understand the soul part, if all of what makes up me is not my soul or part of my soul, what exactly is my soul? And if all that doesnt make up my soul, then the soul isnt really me, its just an empty, nameless vessel.
So what is really being reincarnated?
