Hi everyone
I have learned so much on this site and I want to say thank you. I try and read read read before I ask questions so I am not making anyone repeat themselves. I have what I think has not been discussed before...
I am having a wishes wedding - 80-85 people... 5 pm Yacht club ceremony, 6-11 boardwalk cocktail hour/reception. Sat night...
My question is this... we are not having a wedding party. Just us and my sister as the maid and his best man. So we really dont need a rehersal. Everyone will be coming for the most part on Friday night. I cant afford at this point to do a sit down dinner for that night - but I do want to have some sort of meet and greet cocktail hour with maybe some apps... has anyone done this? I would want to stay within Yacht and Board as that is where most of them will be staying.

Ok so the next question is this... I am not going to be able to get down there (Im in NJ) before the wedding. Im trying to pick out color combos and I think I have what I love/want but I dont know how it will go with the room colors. Im in what they are calling the promenade room? Whatever that is. Its off the patio with the french doors (cocktail hour) - Does it matter? Does the color of the carpet and walls disappear (Ill be having very low light)
PS - How do you post pictures on the post? lol

Hi! I think I can answer a couple of questions....

Rehearsal: We only had my brother and DH's brother as attendants, but we still did a rehearsal. That's cuz we were in an Epcot location and we needed to time out our music cues, though, so you prolly don't need one.

We didn't do a rehearsal dinner either. We did what we called an "Informal, Come-If-You-Want-To Meet 'n' Greet" in the Drawing Room at the Beach Club Villas (right next door to Yacht Club - walking distance!).It was from 4-6pm so that people could make their own lunch/dinner arrangements. The room is a public space at Beach Club Villas (the Disney Vacation Club wing of the resort), but no one else was in there and it was very private:

You could probably bring your own food or have Room Service deliver appetizers if you wanted. And because it's not a private room, there are no rental fees or minimum food & beverage expenditures...

Another possibility suggested to me was meeting by one of the quiet pools.

To post pictures you need to upload them to a sharing site like PhotoBucket. One they've been uploaded, the pictures are assigned codes that you copy and paste in here. :thumbsup2

i had a buffet welcome dinner at the yaght club, ballroom (the small one) it was very nice it had big windows. i had the chip and dale buffet but i am sure you can just do appetizers and drinks

It does help thank you. If you dont mind me asking how many people was it for, did it include alcohol and how much was it?
When I went on the disney website and saw I could do a wishes wedding for 25k I was thrilled. Needless to say Im at like 40k now. lol
So Im trying to keep it low key on the night before but I do want to do something...
