Hi, my son is getting married at the Disney wedding pavilion this Sept and we are throwing the rehersal dinner at the beach near the Beach Cub resort. There will be about 35 people at the rehersal and with drinks, hamburg and hot dogs, taxes and tips it comes to about $2500. This seems like a lot for picnic food. I was wondering if there was a way to save on cost maybe by paying with a disney chase visa card, or a seasons pass or something like that. I'd hate to find out after the wedding that if only I'd known. Thanks any help would be great!:confused3

Part of the cost of using that location is fees for set-up and support, since it's a beach. It's not like setting up in a conference room.

Unfortunately there isn't any way to get a discount on catered events at Disney unless you're a cast member. If you use a Disney Reward Visa Card to pay for it, you'll get Disney dollars, though. :thumbsup2

What type of drinks does that include? Just soda or open bar or beer/wine? Obviously beer and wine only will be cheaper than a full bar and soda only will be cheaper than beer/wine. You could also look into a bill on consumption bar as it often saves people money in the long run.

yeah, i have to say it sounds like fun but it certainly isn't the most cost effective of locations! i'm sure it will be amazing! that said, there are other options i am sure that aren't quite at that price point per se - but i bet it will be fun!!

and the WP is so amazing! enjoy the whole experience!

We are planning on doing this for our rehearsal dinner too! I would love to know more info on how you are going about it. What kind of stuff is Disney providing? Where on the beach will they be holding this? I'm not sure I want to pay that much for a come-and-go picnic either. I may need to brainstorm the best way to go about this.

Dfs parent are having are rehearsal dinner on the beach at the yacht and beach club also. I am ok with but it is going to cost a pretty penny. its going to be from 5:30- 7:30. We have to spend $125 pp min because its a Disney location and it starts after 2pm. We are having 40 people. There will be about 8 kids. So they are going to at least spend $4000. I think its crazy but whatever its there money. I do wish they would just give us the money :rotfl2: so you could have it be cheaper if you choose a earlier time. Good luck :thumbsup2

Anyone know of or have any info on a rehearsal dinner at California grill?

We are hosting ours at Raglan Road. Most of the Downtown Disney locations are actually independently owned and are varying in price points. We have chose to have it at Raglan Road on a Friday night in a semi private dining room for 35ppl with beer/wine and it has a minimum at $4K which we probably wont hit. But there are lot of options throughout the Downtown area :) Good luck!

I can't imagine spending that amount on picnic food.

Who is to stop us if we all are just hanging out on the beach? And we happen to be eating?

I will just tell everyone to be prepared to sit in the sand. hehe:rotfl:

We attended a party like this for a disbride and it was alot of fun. It was all the picnic stuff, beer, soda and I think wine. The food was great, they did a wonderful setup, that part of the beach was closed to others so there were not other people hanging out. They also had dessert and two guys playing steel drums. There were probably at least 100 people at this party. All guests were invited to this party - not just the bridal party and family and we felt special being included.

Linda
