Reheating the Turkey? Help!

I’m going to be cooking the turkey and taking it to my sister’s house which is an hour away. (Actually I’ll have to pick up my dad on the way so it will be an hour & a half!) Will that work? Can I fully cook it and then reheat it there? Should I partially cook it and then finish it there? Or is this going to totally ruin the turkey? If we have to, I guess we can just plan to spend all day at my sister’s house and cook it there. What do you think?

We've gotten a fried turkey from our broker the last couple years. I just picked mine up from him today. I reheat them for about an hour at a low temp, like 250. When the meat thermometer says 180 or so I take it out. It's very scientific ;)

I'm pretty sure the turkey is supposed to rest for an hour after you take it out of the oven anyway. Could you get it into a cooler? That would keep it warm (I know that sounds stupid, but the insulation will work either way, so it will keep the turkey warm, instead of keeping the beers cold. Am I making any sense???)

Thanks so much -- I feel better now. It's good to know I can reheat it if I need to. I was afraid that might dry it out. Great idea about the cooler, Bev! I'm going to try that.

You can also always slice it and put it in a large casserole with some turkey juices. Covered with foil and reheated, the turkey will be moist and delicious. (I speak from experience. We have turkey several times a year, and I often precook it.)
