Ok,

So I emailed for some info from a few of the Reverends that Disney list, and noticed that Randall Miller states that if you are having a custom wedding, a rehearsal is required.

I have a few questions about this:

1) Do Disney charge you to hire a room to do the rehearsal?

2) What location is used for rehearsals, is it set or do you choose?

3) Is the rehearsal the night before the wedding, or can rehearsals be before this?

4) The rehearsal dinner takes place after the rehearsal right? So is the dinner only for the bridal party that were at the rehearsal or for guests too? Are we / our families supposed to pay for this meal?

I think that's all I need to know, for now at least!!
Thanks in advance, I'm really clueless about this, I'm not sure if it's a common thing to be done in the UK!

1) No, you're not charged for a rehearsal.

2) They try to keep you at the same venue. So if you're in the WP they have it there unless there's a wedding... then they move you to a nearby banquet hall (like in the GF).

3) Usually the rehearsal is the night before, or even the morning before. I assume it could be earlier, but traditionally its the day before.

4) Traditionally the rehearsal dinner follows the rehearsal. Although some couples choose not to have one. Usually the bridal party, their dates and immediate family are invited. Some people choose to invite everyone from out of town, although this is tricky with a destination wedding since everyone is from out of town. I'm inviting my bridal party and their guests, parents, grandparents, and a few super close family members... not everyone from out of town because that would be like having a second reception!

I might add that the point of a rehearsal is basically for the minister and the wedding planner to get used to each other, and to get everyone familiar with what to do the next day... like a dress rehearsal.

Great,
Thanks for all this information!

There will probably only be about 25 of us in total so I think we would have to haev everyone for dinner or not bother at all really!

At least now I know how this all generally works, thanks again! :thumbsup2

my rehearsal is starting at 10am the day before and we are following it up with a rehearsal lunch!

No problem! I'm having 25 at my RD, so you should be fine. We're having it at Ohana. It's our favorite restaurant, and we dont have to rent out the place or pay any additional fees. If you choose to have your dinner at a regular restaurant (instead of renting out a place) you can call Disney dining and make the reservation yourself.

That's a nice idea, then no-one will have the impulse to stay out late the night before the wedding!

(Well they might, but they can't blame us! :lmao:)

Will probably see how the budget goes and decide whether to include a meal at a later date...

You are charged for a rehearsal if it's inside one of the parks. They hit us up with a $90 fee for an event guide to escort us around Epcot.

Do you have to have a rehearsal if it is an Escape wedding or is it just the Wishes?

Only Wishes weddings have rehearsals (which seems silly to me, because it's not like Wishes ceremonies are longer or more complicated than Escape ceremonies...) :thumbsup2

Kristen,

How far out can you call to book this? Is it the traditional 180 days? or can you do it when you get booked? We are calling ours a "Welcome Dinner" and all our guests will be invited. We will give our our welcome bags at the dinner and we will have a "groom's cake" there.

I know I'm not Kristen, however I figure that I could still answer it too. If you book it through Disney Dining its the standard 180 Days depending on the restaurant.

Thanks Katie! I'll take your answer as well. Thanks for the heads up. I figured it was the usual 180 days.
