Regular Hotel Room/Rented DVC Points

We have rented points, but we have chosen to stay in regular hotel rooms at Aulani. It will be myself, husband, and two kids in one room. My mother and sister will be in the other room. We are curious about amenities. I know each room will have a fridge. But, it is my understanding that we will be without microwaves. Can we ask for a microwave in one of the rooms - even if there is a fee? Or is there a microwave in one of the quick service locations like at most Disney resorts?

We will have a rental van and plan on buying breakfast items to help with food costs. It would be nice to be able to have access to a microwave.

Thanks for any info! I believe I am still in shock we are going to Hawaii for our big vacation instead of Orlando so I have been ignoring the planning!

You can request a microwave, blender, rice cooker, toaster, and an electric tea kettle from housekeeping (we make the request on our reservation). There was only 2 of us last year, so we chose a hotel room. It's just two of us again, so we are in a hotel room again when we are there in a few weeks. I saw someone post somewhere that microwaves are now standard in hotel rooms. I'm not sure if that is true, so would make the request ahead of time.

Also see about requesting some paper plates, plastic wear, etc. or pick some up at the store. Those are in the studios, but I don't believe they come in the hotel rooms.
