regular Express Pass gone?

Ok, i've read some of the past posts and it seems to be that Universal is no longer doing the regular free express passes (identical to the Disney Fastpass system). Is this correct? I'm familiar with the paid Express Pass Plus tickets and I have used them, but didn't universal also have the free, single ride express passes that gave you a time frame, just like disney?

I can't even tell you how long its been since it disappeared (been years at this point) but there is no free express passes available anymore. You are correct it did exist for a period of time and I can't even tell you how similar it was to the Disney system but I do remember the machines being at several popular rides. I believe some of the machines were still around during my trip in October 2005 but they were covered and not used at the time.

There is no free express. Lines were actually getting TOO LONG due to it.

You can also pay for the Express Pass. I believe that during peak times it is $35.00.

Peak is $40 a day one park. Off peak starts at $15 which is a great deal but really if the parks arent crowded you wouldnt need it anyway.

I had a 2005 Unofficial Guide (WDW, but including US/IOA and Seaworld). I'd read about the Universal Fastpasses in there. But I'd read on these boards that they were no longer there. Waited until Feb to get the updated 2007 UG, and it still says there are regular distribution FP's at US! How long did you say they've been gone?
